Today was such a fun day!

After a great breakfast and getting Liv ready for her dress rehearsal, Mary and I went to see Sam and stayed for a bit. He had fun with us - Who wouldn't?

Then, it was off to the spa!! Shirl joined us for the manicure portion - here are her nails. After my massage with Missy, I was waiting in the relaxation room and the girl by me was soaking her feet in this rose petal foam. Ahhh.

The Festivities of a Big Week Begin

This is going to be a huge week for us. And it's off and running with Liv's bottom braces coming off (top, front four still on with a wire and rubber bands to keep pushing overbite back) and a hair trim of 2.5 inches. The girl's got hair. Julie does such a great job with her - also noticed her brows had a few "stragglers" and did some tweezing - all for $13. Can't be beat.

So much hair -looks like a puppy on her head. :)

And a happy, smiling face through the process.

Priceless.

Bedroom #3

Our new desk - love it! But missing a part so we have to wait till they overnight it tomorrow to finish putting it together. :(

Low foundation box spring - but I thought it would be lower. Guess what I really wanted was a platform bed.

Semi-finished. But not bad, huh? The room needs lots of little touches that we probably won't have time for this week - but later.

I have been soooo bad about updating my blog. Too sick. Too tired. Sick and tired. etc...

Today was competition dress rehearsal at CDA - this is a pic of Olivia's tap number - to a song by Adele, My Same. Costume needs bling - but I'm not the boss. :(

I decided to treat everyone to chocolate covered strawberries for dessert tonight.

Super easy to make and really, really yummy.

She's In!

At about 9:00 p.m. this evening this email came through. I was at CDA (where else would I be?) having just finished a conversation with Kathleen about Olivia's audition. We were trying to come up with Plan B - in case she did not get into BalletMet.

Don't need Plan B now!

Free Lunch - Bravo!

There is a new and very beautiful Bravo opening this week at Lennox Center. Shirl got an invite for 2 and we went to their first "training lunch." We had appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert - off the menu. Pretty awesome.

Just a couple of the desserts to choose from - a bruled (sp?) cheesecake, chocolate chip bread pudding and creme brule.

New Bedroom

We have been working on our 3rd bedroom - changing it from an office, junk room into a real, honest-to-goodness bedroom. This way, we can have houseguest - well, maybe only 1 at a time cause the room is really tiny. Here are some before photos:

Jeff is installing a new closet with drawers since we are not going to be able to put much furniture in the room

Our monster, corner desk is going to be replace with a much smaller desk. I am trying to figure out what to do with the 7 foot avocado "tree" - grown from a pit.

I am planning to do the room in an Asian inspired theme - colors will be light turquoise/seafoam green, dark brown, taupe, white, and persimmon. Here are the bed linens. Trying to go for "zen."

Do I have a life? Yep, but it consits mainly of Liv and dance. Not necessarily in that order.

Tonight Liv and I went to see BalletMet's performance of Cinderella.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Where was Jeff? Home - getting our 3rd bedroom ready for Mary's visit at the end of the month. :)

Flowers

After 2 really crazy days of dreadful, cold, icy weather - it's nice to bring some color back into my day.

Olivia's ballet class got their initial fitting for their costumes for Dancescope coming up in 3 weeks. They are flowers in the big ballet - In Wonderland - a take off of Alice in Wonderland. Olivia is thrilled to be the only white flower - Costume is not finished. Kathleen needs to sew on the flowers. She's happiest when at the dance studio - can you tell???
